With
six 85 Sport models built in the last 3 years, Spertini Alalunga
shipyard have perfected the techniques of building this size
of yacht, to the extent that they recently ‘raised the
bar’ by announcing a new ‘open’ version
of the yacht, with truly excellent performance - the 85 SportX.
With a hull made of the composite material Aramat, the 85
SportX, which has an overall length of 26.6 m, is equipped
with twin MTU 2400 hp engines connected to Arneson surface
drives.
The result is a real jewel of a yacht which cruises at up
to 50 knots with absolute comfort and safety.The
project management and design of this stunning new yacht are
by Andrea Bacigalupo and Carlo Galeazzi, two of the most renowned
marine architects in the yachting industry.
Onboard, the layout of the 85 SportX has been designed to
exploit the available space.
The main deck is devoted to daytime activities, with a large
sun bed, a sofa and a table capable of accommodating eight
to ten people. A smoky glass door leads into the deck salon,
which has a sliding top made of a special type of glass called
Priva-Lite capable of switching from transparent to opaque,
simply by pressing a button. The deck salon is well equipped
with two big sofas, made with brown leather and ecru tissue,
and of an extendible dining table which can be also used as
a coffee table. Behind the pilot chairs one finds a stylish
cabinet which hides the 42” flat screen television and
the home theatre system when not in use. The salon furniture
is made with whitened durmast while the floor is wengé
wood.As befits a yacht of the calibre of the Alalunga 85 SportX,
a futuristic bridge takes up the entire forward area of the
salon with three wrap-around electric chairs, furnished in
chocolate coloured leather. Cruising instruments are controlled
by monitors and trackball conrols and is entirely managed
by an onboard computer.Below decks is no less impressive,
however, with an aft tender garage (storing the 350 jet tender),
which opens out on to the swim platform. Next comes a truly
splendid engine room followed by a full-beam master suite
with a walk-in closet, a study, a sofa and a private bathroom
with marble Portoro top and floor and a shower compartment
with a porthole inside. Guests have three cabins at their
disposal: two twins and a stylish VIP stateroom forward, each
one with its own bathroom and separate shower. In addition
to the four en suite bathrooms, there is also another day
toilet for occasional guests.The galley is found in the centre
of the boat and is fully equipped with a big fridge and freezer,
a dishwasher, a 4-flame stove surface, two sinks and a combined
electric/microwave oven. The crew quarters near the large
galley consist of two cabins, a bathroom, a washer-drier machine
and an adjacent crew mess. The crew also have an independent
access to go outside without passing through the boat.This
particular version of the Alalunga 85 Sport also features
some incredible and very high-quality specifications as well
as an absolutely first-class engine system and instrumentation.
A centralized dust suction system with inlets in every room,
air conditioning everywhere, a watermaker offering 200 lites
per hour, an icemaker, underwater lights, flat tv in every
room (including in the crews quarters), a water purification
plant, a satellite antenna for tv and phone system and dolby
surround in the salon and owner’s suite, make this a
yacht fully equipped for extensive and very comfortable cruising.
