| Located
30 minutes drive from St. Petersburg in Russia, in the town
of Schlisselburg, the luxury yacht builder Laky Verf are
well positioned on the south side of Lake Ladoga, one of
the largest lakes in Europe, and ideal for launching large
luxury yachts for testing prior to transporting them to
the sea. Connected to the Gulf of Finland and Baltic Sea
by the River Neva, which has a minimum depth of 5m, Laky
Verf are able to build and deliver yachts of considerable
size. Having successfully launched a stylish and modern
23m motor yacht last year, the yard’s next project
is altogether much larger, and one for which they are collaborating
with some of the best authorities in the luxury yacht industry. The
Laky Verf Project 45m is a yacht of considerable proportions
and the most ambitious project yet for this rapidly growing
Russian yacht builder. Right from the start of the project,
it was decided that experts would be required to maximize
the quality and seaworthiness of the yacht. With this in
mind, the naval architecture and exterior styling of the
yacht was entrusted to J.J. Consultancy and Van Oossanen
& Associates, while the interior design is by Omega
Architects, all very well known and respected Dutch designers
and some of the leading lights in the design of exclusive
luxury yachts. The magnificent interior of the yacht is both
modern and stylish, where the clever use of colour, fabrics
and wood are being merged to create a luxurious sense of
relaxation and comfort. The main saloon and dining area
is bathed in an abundance of light with a large semi-circular
glass door aft and plenty of large panoramic windows on
either side of the yacht. High quality wood flooring can
be found throughout the yacht, while the soft and easy-on-the-eye
fabrics of the furnishings giving the yacht a rich, warm
feeling throughout. With accommodation for twelve guests,
in six cabins, the ‘piece de resistance’ of
the yacht is the full beam owner’s stateroom and it’s
magnificent en-suite bathroom, which all takes in the full
beam of the yacht and which features a large free standing
bath centrally positioned. The owner’s stateroom is
further enhanced by a walk-in dressing room and private
owner’s study. The crew of 8-12 are also well looked
after, with good sized crew accommodation. On deck, the Laky
Verf 45M is no less impressive. As one would expect from
a 45m four decked yacht, space and privacy is available
everywhere. The large flybridge contains a wide deck area
for tender storage, which easily converts while at anchor
to a fully operational helicopter pad. A flybridge bar has
also designed to keep those guests enjoying the sun and
open skies fully refreshed. The main deck and upper deck,
both have sizeable aft deck areas where al-fresco dining
can be easily taken and are the perfect places to relax
in a comfy chair away from the heat of the sun, while still
enjoying the cool ocean breezes. With a hull constructed
of steel, with an aluminium superstructure, the Laky Verf
45M is designed to be a go anywhere yacht and she is expected
to offer speeds of up to 15 knots, dependent on the ngine
configuration chosen. Like most fully custom yachts, she
is available to be customized to her owner’s specific
requirements, an element where Laky Verf excel. Unlike some
yards, Laky Verf are blessed with excellent facilities where
they undertake the vast majority of work in-house including
the steel, aluminium and interior construction. With large
workshops catering for every one of the owner’s requirements,
the yard has a dedicated team who are responsible for sourcing
only the very best materials worldwide. One aspect where
this is most noticeable is in the production of the yacht’s
woodwork. For this Laky Verf’s shipyard is able to
offer it’s clients a wide choice of high quality woods
such as mahogany, teak, cherry wood, American walnut, Karelian
birch, poplar, maple and acacia etc. All these woods have
been used extensively by the yard in the production of furniture,
and which is constructed to a very high standard.Like Laky
Verf’s entry into yachting last year, with their 23m
yacht, the new Laky Verf 45M is set to take the yard to
another level altogether, and will catapult the yard into
the major superyacht arena where it will mix with some of
the very best yacht builders in the world. With a yacht
built to very exacting standards, and by a highly professional
and experienced worforce, it would seem that Laky Verf will
soon emerge as a new star in the superyacht industry.
