Without
doubt one of the most impressive yachts in the world and
currently the largest, the 160m M/Y Dubai is owned by the
ruling family in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
As recipients
of the world's best-selling book on luxury yachts, exclusive
permission has been granted to us by Dubai's owners to feature
this extraordinary yacht in Volume 3 - 2010 of 'Luxury Yachts
Of The World, which will be published this September.
'Dubai'
was designed by Andrew Winch Design with naval architecture
by Blohm & Voss. The vessel’s propulsion installation
consists of 2 shaft lines with controllable pitch propellers
each driven by 2 MTU diesel engines. The vessel is designed
with a round bilge steel hull and aluminium superstructure,
and has no fewer than seven accommodation decks.
The
general arrangement allows for a great variety of use onboard
the yacht, providing luxury owner and guest accommodations,
dinning, outdoor areas with swimming pool, swim platform,
Jacuzzis, Barbeque area and much more. The vessel has a
helideck designed for landing/takeoff with weight up to
9.5 tonnes and with refuelling facilities onboard.
The
interior layout and design was completed by the Platinum
Interior Design and Decoration office, while the the detailed
engineering for the vessel was completed by the design department
of Platinum Yachts.
